Navigating your way between structure and emergence to surface information from the wider system
Anything growing, as part of its natural process, has both emergent properties and structure, and anything growing has its limitations.
We often experience working with organisations which are asking for structure and clarity in an environment of complexity and uncertainty. As organisation development practitioners, we personally experience tensions with what is ‘known’ and things which have not yet been surfaced, whilst being a part of the system to a greater or lesser degree. We would like to explore in this session how as practitioners we work in this tension between structure and emergence.
Which end of this continuum is your organisation(s) most drawn to (structure or emergence?) and how does that affect and influence your work? Does it create any conflict or tension? Can you move between the two more fluidly and where will that take you? Work and play with us on 17th September to explore this for you and your organisation(s)!
This event is hosted by ODNE West Midlands and is open to any leaders and change practitioners looking to learn with others.
