Ethical Supervision Resources
Deeply researched and thoughtful...expressed in clear language

Jointly curated by the AC and AoCS to inform, stimulate and educate practitioners

Ethics has gradually become part of most coaching body requirements and ethical codes for coaches and supervisors were established early on. However, ethics is not simply about following an external code, to be considered as a defensive response when facing a complaint.

The resources, whilst aimed mainly at coaching supervisors, will also help coaches and mentors to discover useful resources and thinking frameworks. Ethics are core to a coach’s practice enabling them to handle and support their clients’ challenges and ethical dilemmas. Supervisors also bring ethical maturity and a deeper understanding, so that the supervision they provide ensures that practitioners are working ethically and within a developmental and quality framework.

Jointly curated by the AC and AoCS to inform, stimulate and educate practitioners in current ethical practice, the resources are located here

This collaborative effort consulted members from AC and AoCS, independent coaches and a range of professional bodies, to gather resources and ensure that the coverage was wide in scope.

You will find in this knowledge space examples of codes of practice, frameworks for guiding thinking, scenarios, opportunities for reflecting on potential ethical challenges, plus theory and practice.
