I believe that enhancing the leadership capacity of individuals and teams through coaching is the key to raising levels of organisational effectiveness. I set up my leadership development consultancy, Working Solutions, in 1997 after twenty years' experience in central Government. I work as an executive coach, action learning set facilitator and consultant specialising in the strategic use of internal coaches within organisations.
In recent years I have become particularly interested in the voluntary sector as I chair a Southwark based charity - Link Age Southwark - which addresses the issue of isolation and loneliness for older people so I have set up, and chair, EMCC UK's Third Sector Coaching & Mentoring Forum.
I am a member of AC and EMCC and am a Fellow of the Institute of Consulting. I am also a member of the Network of Women Chairs and Association of Chairs - for chairs of charities.
I am the author of 'Internal Coaching: The Inside Story', which is referenced by Erik de Haan on his Supervision diploma programme at Ashridge (Chapter 9: the supervision chapter). I have been in supervision for nearly fifteen years as a coach and couldn't do without it, so I feel very honoured to have been invited to be an Honorary Member of AOCS.
My research into coaching ethics was published in June 2010 in the International Journal of Mentoring and Coaching.

"Katharine is one of those people whom it would be truly difficult to recommend too highly. I trust her judgement absolutely as she is able to view situations in the round and in great detail simultaneously. She combines insight, astuteness and business acumen with a wonderful, easy manner that just makes her a pleasure to be around and do business with. "
