Professional Qualifications
I have been supervising coaches, consultants and/or psychologists since 1999, having become a chartered psychologist in 1996 and subsequently joining the British Psychological Society register of supervisors and training in supervision with the Bath Consultancy Group and the Centre for Supervision Training and Development.
People I supervise in groups or as individuals report the experience as being developmental as well as thought provoking and directly relevant to their work. They are typically in independent or small business practice, and some work temporarily or permanently as employees. They are usually experienced practitioners seeking some degree of extension and challenge, however I can supervise across a range of levels of experience.
Groups I run are usually closed for a year and meet quarterly, supplemented by individual time according to requirements, which gives useful flexibility according to workload.
I have particular interests, publications and experience in a number of areas that I draw on to supervise, including gestalt, story, complexity, poetry, neuropsychology, the psychology of wisdom and adult lifespan development.
People bring a wide range of practice challenges to supervision, from highly specific client issues to questions of broader context, applied ethics, developmental watersheds and questions about the type of work they want to do. I take a holistic view in service of their commitment to exploring and extending the leading edge of their practice.
