Membership Changes
As you all know we have been working hard behind the scenes to make everything as clear as possible to our members and to make it so that we can be as sustainable and equitable as possible in how we run things as a volunteer-led organisation. You will perhaps be pleased to know that as part of this, we have considered our membership and fee structure and the outcome is not a big increase in fees (there is a slight tweak to a discount)!
What we have sought to do is be clearer on what different membership statuses mean, how an individual qualifies for them, and how that links to the access and services you receive.
For individuals going forward there will be four categories:
Accredited
Qualified
In-training
Non-practising
|
Membership (before any discounts) £ |
Joining fee – year one only £ |
Definition |
Accredited |

Holding a current coaching supervision accreditation with a body we recognise: CSA, EMCC, AC, APECS This is distinct from qualification from an accredited provider, see below. |
Qualified |

10 |
Holds a substantial qualification (such as a diploma level certificate) specifically in coaching supervision from a training provider whose course is accredited with a professional body. This is distinct from introductory certificates or short skills courses. If in doubt, please ask! |
In-training |
47 |
10 |
Within four years of joining with this status will have achieved a level of qualification that will be recognised as above – will be shown in public directory as ‘in training’ |
Non-practising |
47 |
10 |
Interested in being part of the community but not eligible for the Directory – no time limit |
Lifetime membership |
0 |
0 |
Awarded for services to AOCS to a supervisor – Included in public directory if still meeting criteria (i.e. practising and in supervision) |
Honorary membership |
0 |
0 |
Awarded for services to AOCS to someone who is not a supervisor - not eligible for the public directory |
The joining fee will continue to be £10 for everyone. There will be an alignment of the discounts available in year one so that members of EMCC, CSA, and AC will all now get 10%.
We’ve set this all out in the table below.
If you are currently listed as an associate or affiliate or other terminology that may have been used previously we will contact you in advance of your next subscription notice to confirm any changes, this should have a very minimal effect in terms of fees and service level. All the changes are designed to make things more simple.
Hopefully this causes minimal change for anyone – however if you have any questions please contact:
[email protected] Sam will be happy to help or raise questions with the team as necessary.
Regional Changes and Progress
We've had a busy start to the year with three productive meetings already under our belts. We'd like to extend our thanks to everyone who has been able to attend so far.
Our main focus at the moment is raising awareness of supervision in our respective regions. To that end, we're in the process of planning a series of supervision experience events. We're inviting all Regional Coordinators, as well as their supervisor colleagues, to join us and share their experiences of supervision.
Keep an eye out for invitations to these events – we hope to see you there!
Become part of our online family. Connecting and empowering each other to succeed. We want to give supervision wider exposure and a larger 'share of voice' in the coaching community. Come and join us!
