No that is not our role, although we expect you to be under regular supervision yourself, either 1-1 or in a group, and to continue your CPD & maintain professional indemnity insurance. As a member, you can add testimonials and feedback from satisfied clients to your profile. You will need to continue your prime membership of another coaching or mentoring association.

Have been trained in supervision by a recognised training school/academy, to have undertaken some supervision or be actively supervising others, have a satisfactory reference from your current supervisor(s), actively support your CPD, and be passionate about supervision and share our principles! Internal peer supervisors are also welcome but may not meet these criteria (see our Join page for options)

Yes, to the membership committee, to request additional factors to be considered.

Current joining fee renewable annually for qualified/accredited coach supervisors is £90.

Affiliate membership is for coaches who are training to be qualified supervisors: £45 (can upgrade to qualified coach supervisor later).

Associate membership is for qualified/accredited supervisors from a related field/or internal supervisors: £45

Coach/Mentor members and internal coaches/mentors can join for £40 annually.

Regional and Country Coordinators who represent their region and promote AOCS pay the same membership fee of £90 fee. Please contact us to discuss what you would like to do and for what region.

We prefer payment via bank transfer where processing charges can be avoided. Pay online via PayPal or via Stripe. We will send you details of how to pay by email during the joining process. You do not need to open a PayPal or Stripe account to pay. International charges will be incurred for bank transfers.

Absolutely! Membership will become more important as supervision increases its profile, with more Buyers asking for coaches with supervisors. Please see membership benefits, that include discounts on books and magazine subscriptions at special rates. Coaches and Mentors also can access the learning resources.

Yes, by being shown on the 'supervision map' coaches and buyers can easily find you, by location. You can use the AOCS logo to add to your marketing efforts (once qualified) and we hope to bring you closer to potential buyers of supervision and to learn from our current research in this field.

We share knowledge and best practice in the field coaching supervision and mentoring, through interesting articles, books, tele-forums, workshops, Virtual Ashridge, conferences, etc. – so that you can sustain your accreditation and CPD through forums. We issue CPD Certificates for attending tele-forums and workshops.

No, AOCS supports it and adds to your professionalism by focusing purely on supervision.

It will evolve and listen to input from you and by expanding gradually, and from annual membership surveys. Supervision is developing and growing into new markets and we want to be in the forefront of these trends. We have also formed a Strategy Group to consider the future needs for supervision and to take these ideas and research forward. We have a range of projects evolving all the time! Full members can put their profile (short and full versions) on the membership map (see Coverage) and you can update your profile via the member’s page, including photo, testimonials and even video content about yourself. Visitors can search for relevent profiles via your location or world-wide.

We will work within the Data Protection Act and, besides your application details, the only information we will retain will be as shown on the website, and for renewal of membership purposes.

Your profiles, short and long versions, will be displayed on the membership map. If you are involved in a specific tender for work, you will see the presentation that the buyer sees and may talk to the coordinator for that assignment.

No, there's no 'certificate' as such - remember that AOCS is not certifying you or your supervison practice - that comes through your existing memberships. You can however, as a member, use the AOCS logo when sending email or profiles to potential clients. If anyone wanted confirmation of your active membership, they could contact us.

No, AOCS is not a professional association, like APECS for example, as we don't create standards, accredit or have oversight of any member's professional practice. We just exist to promote supervision and to promote our members to potential buyers of supervision, so there's no conflict regarding marketing our members.

Yes! AOCS welcomes active coaches, mentors, L&D and OD practitioners who want to work with and learn more about supervision. The membership process is easy. You may access the learning resources in our Member's Area and attend various networking events in the UK. First year's membership fee is currently only £40.

We aim to approve applications within 7 days, although we may need to contact you to discuss your application in more detail, and you'll need to pay online too.

Either your supervisor's reference covers a short period of time, or we may need to see an additional reference if you've provided a peer supervisor reference (see our peer reference guidance here) or are an internal coach.

Stripe is an easy way to pay by credit and debit cards online - there are no extra fees for you to pay.
Stripe is currently available in the USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and Spain.
